Our Public Consultation Process
Lightsource considers community consultation to be very important. Although there is no requirement for developers to undertake community consultation, Lightsource does so for two main reasons:

• To inform the local community of our plans
• To receive feedback and input from the local community to inform the final detailed design of our sites

How it works
Our public consultation process includes community consultation meetings as well as pre-application engagement with the Local Council. A community consultation event will vary depending on the site, and availability of appropriate venues, and can include:

• A presentation by the Lightsource planning team together with the provision of display materials
• Display materials available over several hours, with Lightsource staff available to answer questions
• A presentation at the Local Parish Council meeting
• Information leaflets sent to nearby residents

What is the result?
Often Lightsource will make changes to the development plans following public consultation meetings in order to accommodate the local community. This can include avoiding certain areas of a site, amending parts of the layout, or ensuring processes are in place to manage certain construction issues. For example; if construction traffic passes by a school or recreation facility then we will look at which times need to be avoided for deliveries.
